I don't think that your term 'heat exchange' is even really relevant to a fan bowing in/sucking out system. Maybe you are talking about heat exchange between the air in the box and the outer casing. In which case I doubt that will do much to cool the ambient temp inside even if you had an aluminium case and huge heat dissipating surfaces on it.
