Oops! Guess that's the post with the sketch. Am I correct when I say I don't see any additional lenses?

IEF,
No problem on the late reply. So you just affixed the triplet to the front of the bass tubes and, !Viola! a zoom lens? Amazing. Is this because the triplet is a varifocal? Steamer

hi
the basstubes are for the zoom, but not for the varifocus... its varifocus, because you can change the distance between the lenses (he allready bought it as a farifocus) btw: hallo ieb :P

Hi IEF,
I saw the sketch of the bass reflex tubes with the messurements but just want to double check what size tubes are you using? Is one 74mm (2.9134") inside diameter and the other 67mm (2.6378") inside diameter? if so this is confusing what size to look for in us standard messurement? are they 3.00" and 2.75" port tubes respectively? |

hi dave123,
yes the measurement u've found out are right. but no need to be confused, dude. i found these tubes coz i wanted to got tubes having a flange which could be varied in length. that enables a mounting on the varifocus as well as on the housing. if you will find any tubes matching these criterias u're on the right track. it is not a must that they have to match the exact 67mm or 74mm. all you have to take care of is the fact that the tubes will fit and have a flange where u can mount it on the lens and on the housing. |

I see that you have made a working lcd projector contained in a great looking case. Im used to seeing people over here trying the overhead projector method. I note the light source to the mid far right and output to the bottom for left. light goes thrugh a glass plate striking the lcd and being ridirected toward the lens that now has a tube to allow extension.
to clear my head- your light source is first striking a glass plate. is this for diffusion or another reason? there are a number of panels surrounding the area between the light source and lcd that are not in the path of light. are they reflectors to gather light that has scattered in hope of increasing light output?(ie gathering light lost and redirecting toward lcd again) is the lcd controller board located below and left of the lens mounted to the bottom of the box? could you have not used a mirror at all and had the light path just be from light source to lcd to lens? as in a straight line? lcd can be reversed to corrct picture right? the lens type used and generally speaking required I woudnt know much about... I understand concave and convex thats about it. what is special about these lens in use? I have/had a number of lens assemblys from rear projection big screen tvs do you think these are what is required? your box looks vary profesional as apposed to the ones people talk about/do here..... great accomplishment I will keep reading and thinking about your work for some time................
