Default it is

nearly impossible....

you will never be close enough to a high lumen output lamp to check the thing out, and if you would have that luck, you would also need to have a source like dvd or so, and if the panel only has vga or svga IN than you might as well take your computer with you or a cheesebox....

I would make sure that you get soem kind of warranty or bring him to your place or do whatever so you are able to negotiate yourselve out of it when the thing does not work, be carefull also for dead pixels!!! hard to see at first glance and without a source.

If it's a panel for an overhead projector, the most you could do without getting hassled by security guards is hook it up to a portable device (laptop w/vga out, portable dvd player with video out, etc) and then hold the panel to the light while it's powered up. Every mall I've been to had a food court with wall outlets around, I'm sure they wouldn't mind too much if you plugged it in.

Dead pixels will appear as dots that don't move or change color on the panel. You probably won't be able to tell without a powerful light behind it, but if you saw a big cluster of dead pixels, don't take it.

Default i can't help you on that one

but if the setting allows you 32 bit mode that does not mean your panel operates like that, it could just as well mean that it supports it but still only reflects the 185k C.
