Smile New to board, and a question.

Hi all, I've been enjoying the forum here for a while now and I thought I'd finally get in the er.. game. I've been searching for answers the last few days and I haven't found anything, so I thought I'd ask.

My first attempt at a DIY projector was one of the.. "build a gigantic amazing perfect project with only your tv!" but suffice to say that obviously didn't work out all that well. However, I recently was given a Sharp QA-1200 LCD Panel, so I thought I'd give a better projector a try. My problem is with the panel; it's possible that it's just broken. It didn't come with the power supply, but I have a universal AC adaptor that I thought would work. The LCD panel requires 12V 1.95A and the adaptor has a 12V setting, but is 300mA. So if that's the problem.. then that's the problem. When I plug it in the power light does come on, but that's it.. no fans or visible indication of power. So I'm just wondering if anything like this has happened to anyone else here, if the PS is my problem.. or if it's just shot. I'm a big fan of the forum and hopefully I can eventually get something up to your standards!

300ma is not enough has to be atleast 1500ma. I know it worked for me before. Power light is a good sign it is still good.

I just picked up a 12V 1500mA adapter from Radio Shack and it starts up! But because I don't have the remote either I can't seem to get it to go to a screen other than "no signal." :P
