Arrow DIY Lcd has a kind of pixel jitter..(please help)

Hi guys im new here so hi!! i have come all the way across the virtual world from mp3car.com...

As you can probably guess im attempting to build an mp3 player for my car and all was going ok until i took the step of wiring up my lcd. I have connected and it works i get a picture and its a good quality etc but it appears to jump up and down by one pixel on the vertical axis...its very annoying.

I have tested my wiring...and resoldered it i dont think it is an issue......

after some time fiddling i noticed 5 rotary switches on the rear of the lcd 4 were to do with reversing the sync (turning the picture upside down) and the other one well it moves the picture to the left off the screen but it is completley stable no jitter at all!!!

But i then cant get it to be centered...

Has anyone else had any experience with stuff like this?

Much appreciated!!

Heya blop, have u got a remote with this thing? also do u have a control in the onscreen menu that alows for auto tuning? the auto tunning should fix this, its just the clock phase thats out, i have a lilliput here the so called xga one lol and the lcd started to do the same thing until i hit the auto ajust button, this will auto tune the lcd to correct screen size, the correct phase and the correct clock speeds, give it a try if u have it, i bet it will fix your prob, either that or maybe u need to filter your power and signal sources, it could be interference.

Hi ace 3000 thanks for your reply!!!

I have a setup wizard on the OSD on the lcd controller (arv 300) however that is what gives me the centered picture with the pixel jitter.

There is an option in that menu with something called phase and a picture with wavey lines over the screen.....but changing that appears to do nothing.

Im not sure what you mean by filtering.

I dont think the wiring is a prob because when i change that rotary switch on the rear....the picture is solid....but it is over the left....(with no way of getting it centered)

Thank you for your help ace.....i hope u will be able to help further.

heya blop, the phase from memory actually makes the image central, i think i have mine set at 32 from memory, the clock does somthing similar, do u have power strip at all? also have u tried to change refresh rates ect? the power filtering is a filter that takes away any interferance in the power supply and other areas of power, they are also found common on signal lines so the signal line is clean from any interferences, montitor cable have these, its just a small magnet atached to the vga cable, power is known to cause bad harmonic interference and lcds can have problems asociated from a noisy power source or input source, u said u took the rotary switch off of the pcb, what did u replace it with? if u have wires coming from this area maybe the wires are whats picking up the interference if this is found to be the problem

I have tried powerstrip....but that didnt help with the centering of the screen....i will attempt to knock down the refresh rates.....i did play but nothing really did anything.

I didnt remove the rotary switch i just moved its postion. And the result was a solid picture but off to the left. Because the picture is solid like this im not sure that a noisy power supply could be the cause.
Plus i was using a Thurlby Bench PSU which im told are loads of wonga £££ and high quality.

will pursue powerstrip more!!

thank you again!!
