Default why so low?

Hi guys,
I was looking at a regular ol' projector and it says it only does 200 ansi lumens?!?! Isn't that a bit weak?

I hear that for the LCD panel projects we want 4000 lumens *minimum*. So, wouldn't 200 ansi lumens(even for a regular projector) a bit weak?

So my questio is...is there less lumens needed for projectors or are ansi lumens different than the lumens in ohps?

Thanks!

you want at least 4000 lumens before it passes through the lcd.

well i'd have to say that if your using a projector in a home theater environment (I've installed sat systems for people with nice home theaters) you'd only need about 500 ansi lumens. Since your going to be watching movies with the lights off and no ambient light, 500-800 lumens is fine. But if theres going to be ambient light coming in, I.E through the door than 1000 lumens would be better, and if you want your windows open even higher. These are just estimates.
And 200 lumens does seem a bit too low, but might still work in a good environment.
