Question LCD Projector green hint

Hi

I have just got a hold of a CP - L550 projector and it seems that the image that it projects is a little green.

Does anyone know if this can be fixed or made slightly better in any way.

Can i fix the LCD pannels or change them?

Thanks

HITACHI CP-L550

You MIGHT be able to fix it, a little. The light entering your pj goes through a square fresnel like piece of glass. That glass has some adjustment screws (2). These screws will adjust the beam of light going into your pj and going through the light splitters ( i forget the technical term) and into the lcds. By slowly turning these screws you should be able to correct the problem. If it doesnt correct the problem then its just to old and the green might be from the lcds heating up to much in its prior uses.

Make sure you dont touch any of the optics and boards in the pj as you can short it out. REMOVE ALL YOUR BRACELETS!

you wouldnt be able to find replacement lcds without spending an arm and a leg on 1 or even 3.

I dont think the green is from the frensels nor the prisims i beleive u have what is called faded lcds lol from too much uv not being filterd out in the light source, normally the lcd will fade to a green or a yellow, its a common problem in the older lcd projectors and even in some of the new cheaper ones that still dont use the uv filters, i guess u get what u pay for.

i had a problem with my epson 5500c that had a green tint on the right side of the screen. left side was perfect.
I corrected the problem by adjusting the screws i mentioned. try it. it might work it might not. you have nothing to loose.

heya apo yeah in your case it makes sence but for a whole screen to go out that prisim must be out a fair whack, im talking 1-3mm for a projector with small lcds, your green must have come from the non optical grade glass they used in the prisims lol cos optical grade is clear.
