Default do all lcd panels(NVIEW Z115) have macrovision problems?

Hi guys,
Thinking of getting a Nview Z115, but I heard there was problems with Macrovision?

Do all lcd panels have this problem, or is it just this panel?

If all panels have this problem, what do you guys do to get around this?

Macrovision does only affect the analog input circuitry of any receiving device. So it is a question of design whether it is sensitive to that or not.

Basically any Macrovision disturbance can be cleared out by a MV-removing circuit, i.e. signal conditioner. There are plenty of schematics for that on the web.

A good idea is f.e. to use a sync stripper like LM1881.

I've used a Viewframe Spectra C, an Ovation 810 and 822, and a Powerview 820 and had no Macrovision problems with any of them.

Henrik:

Your Ovation 810 doesnt have s-video or composite in does it?

Doesn't qualify for macrovision problems then?

Mate, you technically may have a point there - however, it would be fair to add that when I was using the Ovation 810 I had a cheese box video to vga scan converter for my analogue video sources - does it qualify on that basis?

I shold have qualified that point originally I know.

I'll try harder in future. Thanks for setting me straight.

Didn't mean to sound harsh or anything. I'm just mad cuz I bought a Lanier 4320 (which is an ovation 810 with the Lanier name) and didnt get the Lanier 4320V (which is either the 820 or 822). Both auctions were ending at the same time and I lost the first one.

How did the cheese box work for you? Was the quality better than hooking it up to the pc playing a dvd on the pc?
