Default Multiple projectors to increase resolution

Can someone explain how the nvidia multiple desktop method allows me to output 2 xga images to 2 different projectors?
Do I not need 2 identical outputs on my nvidia video card?
My geforce4 440mx 64mb only has one output of everything.

Lets say we are talking about presenting a 2:35 anamorphic movie from a dvd rom. We want one desktop to show the left side of the full widescreen image but it should fit xga aspect ratio or close. And the other desktop to show the right half of the movie. Each of the desktops now have to output to each projector. Correct?

if it says it has the ability to output to 2 monitors in extended desktop form then it has 2 outputs (2 vga outputs), and really all you need is a 1 gigahertz pc for dvds, but if your going to have high defintion video on it then you need a 3 gigahertz pc, becuz reading high def and reading a dvd and upscaling it to high def are 2 totally different things! and beleive it or not, if you have 2 3:4 screens side by side its wider than 2.40:1 which is as far as i know as wide as they make dvds, so you would have black bars on the sides no matter what dvd your watching unless you zoom to cut off the sides or stretch it for crappy image distortion!

What if you simply built 2 panels into one projector instead of 2 projectors.
It seems like you would have an easier time getting a consistent picture if they were in the same PJ using the same light source.
I think with 2 projectors ud have a hard time ever getting rid of a line down the middle because of slightly diff brighness etc. But if they shared the same light source they might look perfect across the whole image.
The optics setup would be interesting for this idea.
Heh you could actually use a 1000 watt MH and it wouldn't be overkill.
It might be difficult to bring the two halves together in one projector though...
Any ideas out there?

i think they meant to have the lcds side by side, but ya ive thought of that before, but having two projectors or one with them side by side does tend to leave you with better options for movability and keystoning and basically not just a permanent thing!

Ya I was thinking more along the lines of side by side, with one objective lens, although the optics would be challenging this way...

One thing that would be kickass about this setup is that you could let a buddy plug his pc into half and you could game side by side on equally ginormous screens...
The more I think about this the more appealing it sounds....
damnit 2 LCD's would be pricey though...

This is what I was thinking needs to happen with a 2.35 movie.
