Hi all.
I know this probably is not the right place but here goes. I have a sanyo plc-xu41 that I purchased. Whe it arrived the lamp light was on but the projector projected an image. I managed to read 3800 (!!) hours on the projector. I turned it off and bought a new bulb. I tried turning it on just before I put the old bulb in, but it turns on, (bulb does not ignite) then turns off again (with flashing red power light). Inserting the new bulb shows the same behaviour. Any ideas? (I am thinking that its due to the replace lamp light possibly but there is no way of resetting without turning the projector on!) |

It seems like an issue with the ballast where it cannot maintain the voltage after ignition. Sounds like a shoddy capacitor somewhere on the ballast. Visually inspect all capacitor for bulges or leakage and replace. Alternatively try replacing the ballast.
