Default DIY LED bulb using this

Hi all

Just a quick brainstorm that I would like to share, can anybody share their thoughts on using something like this :

eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

My plans are to remove the outer casing, and basically get a 50 watt 5k LED and power supply for a relatively low price, and then replace the MH bulb with this in an old sanyo LCD projector I have.

My biggest issue I think is going to be focusing this light onto the small collector in front of the original bulb.

Any thoughts?

useless waist of time. You need a VERY tight spot so you can focus the beam through the Prisom and lens array. " Eelectrodacus" has several nice tutororals on this subject.

Dont forget led's have a very narrow light spectrum. Also led's only give out light in 1 plane unlike a HiD ... The idea is ok . i think you will have lots of trouble trying to focus the led light and will run into trouble with colour rendering .
