Default Worth to build EDTV (720x576p) projector?

I am trying to decide should i build projector or buy commercial.
I have regular living room of 12x12 feet and i intended of watching EDTV (720x576p) or slightly more like 1024x resolution trough projector.

Money wise and picture quality wise should i build or buy?

If buy can someone suggest one or what spec i need to look for
