Default Using commercial MH lamp assemblies

I am from Kerala, India. I am new to DIY projectors and is planning to build one in near future and is reading the posts int his and other forums.

I have a doubt on the light engine which may be cleared by the experienced members of the forum. My doubt is why the commercial MH light assemblies readily available in the market is not recommended for use in building the light engine ?. IMO its safe and fast to work with them as the casing and reflectors are already there.

Please explain the pros and cons of using the light assemblies in the projector.

Sir,
Local brand assys are avilable at Rs. 3.5K and Bajaj make with osram lamp is available for Rs. 6.3K in cochin. Considering the saving in efforts and better optics, I think 6.3K for 250W is reasonable. What is your opinion ?.
