Hello Chaps,
I've not been on this forum for a long time. I made a projector from an old ohp and a projection panel several years ago for a total cost of about £50. I started to lose interest in the board when it became dominated by people who were willing and able to spend lots of money on making a projector - i.e. MH lighting, buying new LCD screens specific for the job, expensive fans etc - when to me it was just about having a bit of fun. Still each to there own so no complaints. To me the money people were spending on their projects was so close to buying a commercial projector that it wasn't worth it. I had a stroke of good luck and found a fully working 800x600 commercial projector a the local rubbish dump last year - worked perfectly - even the lamp. I expect it was thrown out due to being the size of a small tank and not being able to display the new standard computer resolutions. It's greaty for films and games though. Anyway, I cam across this product this morning and thought of this site - a hand held (pocket size) LED powered projector.... made by 3M - for £240. Is there anyone wanting to start a new project after seeing this? http://www.ebuyer.com/product/165186 other than the old fashioned ones made of OHP's etc. That reminds me - there used to be a huge thread on LED projectors, I must check how that ended. Best wishes. John |
