Well well it's the infamous ChildSid!! welcome to the thread!!
As for the xenon bulbs that Sdubb123 was asking about... they were a loan from my father who owns a car/audio shop. And since I dont own a car for now I returned it to him. But If youre interested in pursuing the project you can find ballast boards and bulbs for very cheap on ebay And Haliker: Well after reading what ChildSid had to say.... it could be my first speculation about the board not having enough juice to power the bulb in any case YWH has offered to look into it for me (which is very cool) so I'm sending him the bulb with reflector this week.. As for trying multiple High Lumen Leds?.....I dont know buddy.... I'll tell you this Edipower released a 3000 Lumen model a couple of months back.... I saw someone selling it on ebay for US$175 almost tempted to try but the thing with those LEDS is the heat issue, Those things heat up very fast. I had to use a Chipset heatsink from an old PC MB and thermal paste for my 1000 lumen model and let me tell ya it does work but its just not bright enough. If you place the LED right on top of the hole where the colorwheel is (I took the heat filter glass off the original lamp casing and heat glued the corners onto the LED (quite risky but at this point I was a mad scientist you will get an image but a really dim one and thats the 'best result' location for those things. The only problem for me was I had to hold the thing onto the hole since I couldnt think of a quick idea to hold it in place and it was also just to test see if that would inprove on light loss from original mounting method, which it did but not enough light in comparison to how it used to light up with conventional bulb. Personally I think you would have to be an optics scientist or have optics experience to re-engineer this PJ to work with the Leds but I do belive its possible. From a techinical stand point getting a brighter Led is all we can do but at what cost? and will it perform they way we want it to? keeping in mind this PJ was engineered to work with an extreme high output bulb... Just some random info for you guys my setup is a living room 17x23 sq. ft. wall to wall the PJ's throwing distance was 15ft at about 108" on a glass beaded matte white High Gain (2:1 Contrast ratio) Screen... And this wraps up my weekly essay on PJ Modding....

I need to get rid of several dust blobs on my PJ. I also want to clean it out entirely of accumilated dust. Anyone know how to take apart an Infocus IN72? I could use some suggestions for cleaning the projector of dust. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
