The thread is actually for LP500, LP530 lamps please as I need them. For LP350 burners ask YWH? here on DIY. or ask 16wheeler. I think they are 270 watt/DC jys/special. I have used them & they work well.

Hi,
I have been getting lamps from YWH on this forum. He is in China and supplies many DIYs with their lamps. I use the JYS/DC 270 watt special for I think $40. This lamp is about 70-80% as bright as factory original but for home theater very nice. For presentation use he has a brighter lamp available too but you need to ask him what model number is. I think it is $70-$80 US His email is yuweihua@163.net Good Luck, Jim |

Thanks again Childsid, posted also the link to this page, that way YWH will be aware of how the address was given.
Bought six second user LP 500s. Got three working but only have two lamp modules. Might be able to fix a fourth. Any-one point me in the direction of lamp modules? Have no way of upgrading the firmware. any-one with the software that allows a pc to connect with a LP 500? Any-one aware of the latest version? Could already be installed, no way yet of that knowledge. Read much about the LP 500 and issues with the power supply and lamps. If your going to push 2000ansi out of such a small box, then expect issues. LP 500 pushed the bounds of svga dlp technology (only a opinion). Great picture! even in daylight, old technology that once stable is a marvellous wee box of light. Jason Pop. |

Wondering if this is possible - find a high powered lamp, seperate external ballast and install the lamp into a LP 500. Add a few fans for additional cooling? sit back and enjoy a beer.
Any way for this to be done? |

Hi Jason,
I have rebuilt over 100 LP500/LP530 lamps using YWH lamps. The modules are very hard to find. I do have a couple extra cages for you if you can find a supplier for the OEM reflector used in the LP500/LP530. I need about 25 reflectors & the ceramic base for them. I know Phoenix electric Co. in Japan makes these lamps for Infocus. I have not been able to get them to sell to me. To rebuild lamps I use 8mm diamond drill bit on drill press & drill hole in center of ceramic bottom of reflector. I posted a rebuilding method for the LP500 & LP530 on this forum & YWH helped me with it. I use a projector modified to test, get correct focal alignment & cement the lamps & YWH uses a seperate 400 watt ballast to test his and points to a wall to get correct focal alignment to cement. You can search forum or I can email instructions to you. To upgrade firmware is easy. Go to Infocus & download software program LP500 http://www.infocus.com/Support/Produ...ors/LP500.aspx LP530 http://www.infocus.com/Support/Produ...ors/LP530.aspx Good luck to you. You can PM me at prmhelp@earthlink.net Jim |
