I'm interested to know what power amps other people are using/recommend with their Tram 2s.
I started out with Consonance 845S monoblocks but have recently switched to an F5 clone. The drive of the Tram is ideal for the F5, which has only 15dB gain. I use it on the -3dB setting and there is no noise at all. I get hum with +6dB. This combination gives me the best of both worlds - the holographic soundstaging of the Tram coupled with the extended top end and more controlled bass of the F5. My speakers are Hoerning Alkibiades (8 ohm, 99dB sensitive), so power is not a problem. Cheers Alan |
