Replacing Rotel CDP pickup - hit some grief

Hi,
My Rotel RCD930ax has been playing up (spitting out discs etc). I tried cleaning the lens, helped a bit. Now I've replaced the pickup (with an identical one). All went fine as far as I can tell. But now it won't read anything. The disc doesn't spin, and the door opens again.
What are my options now?

Although I am not familiar with this model, this is a classic symptom..

Is there a "drawer closed" switch ?? check that it is connected or being activated.

I can't see one, and I've just had a good look. It's like it think's there's no disk - it does the same thing when there's no disc in it

What laser is it?
Does it have a solder bridge to protect from static and, if so, did you remove it?

It's a KSS-210a,
I've just removed the solder bridge, thanks guys.
BUT, same symptoms. It doesn't even let the door stay shut when there's no cd.
Any adjustments I need to make?
