Default PCM2906 won't work, often...

Hi
Have any of you encountered a problem with PCM2906, which most often will not start on PC?
Every ten USB plug-ins I do I get either:

'USB audio device failure' or
'HID device failure' or
'composite USB device failure or
'unspported PCM format' in Winamp or
suprisingly everything's OK !!!

All above happen quite random way.
What can it be? Crystal/synchro problem? Ground problem?

I run PCM2906 in USB->SPDIF mode, so pins like VIN-L, VIN-R, VOUT-L, VOUT-R, Din, HID 0/1/2 are not connected, the rest is simalar to simple application from datasheet.

Can anyone help and tell me what's going on?

regards
Adam

Was a ground problem, solved.
Strange, some pins seem to be connected internally in IC, but chip does strange things when not connected externally.

Thanks for all your helpful replies.

Hi,

I'm also having problems of that kind with that chip

What kind of ground problems you were having?

What about the audio out? What kind of filtering have you provided?

Did you connect it directly to the ampped speakers?

Thanks,

Nuno

The OP noted that he was using only the SPDIF output which is digital..
