I just received my AD1955 reference board. Very nice design overall. I'll post some pictures later.

Measurements are pretty great as well with:

THD+N measurements are typically -108.90762 +- .6dB

Non-weighted SNR is right around -117.87 dB, but has been seen as low as -118.59 dB

Non-weighted DNR is between -118dB and -119.28dB

As for the sound...sounds great to me. I'm not going to talk about "transparency" "musicality" or "fullness" as I'm not a big subscriber to those terms.
The numbers pretty much speak for themselves in my book.

Hi,

Do you how this board does I/V conversion. Does it have balanced outputs? What are the power requirements?

Does it have any power supply on-board ripple filtering?

Sorry about the questions. I can't seem to find any on-line documentation at the Analog site. Do you have any?

Best Regards,

Dale

It uses AD797s, has balanced and single ended outputs, and requires +- 12V.

Yep, it has a handful of SMT electrolytics on board.

It comes with a printout of the schematics and AD1955 docs. You can download the datasheet from Analog's web site:

http://www.analog.com/UploadedFiles/Datasheets/422968845AD1955_0.pdf

I don't think the eval board schematics or docs are up there yet.

Hi Again,

Just hoping that you would post some pics.

Does this have switches to set modes or use a PC connection?
What input receiver does the board use or is one not needed with the 1955?

From you rlast post, I assume there is a 5V regulator on-board.

Thanks again,

Dale

P.S. I have one on order. How long did it take them to ship?

OK...here goes:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

The DAC is programmable via SPI, a few of the pins on the DB25 are used for that.

For the PCM modes, it uses a CS8414. It also has a seperate input for DSD.

Yep, it's in the north slight left of center.

Took a week and a bit to get here.
