recommendations for diy NOS dac kit?

looking for a DAC kit.

I have currently a Arcam CD player and a passive volume control.

so whatever dac kit i build its output impedance has to be low.

i am looking for everyones vote on all the dac kits out there.

i will do my own research after tallying up a list of them.

The AD Labs RD3 has only 30 ohms which is about as good as you can get:

it looks pretty good... anyone had any experience with it?

also... i kinda want to be able to supply the dac via batteries.

My vote goes for Peter Daniel's TDA1543 NOS passive I/V with good discrete buffer, Difficult to beat in most opinions.
