Default sourcing a CDM1 laser....

Hello all, nice to be back from a very, very long break...(education).
Does any-one here know where I can find a laser for a CDM1 transport. its in a marantz cd80 which still works fine but im just thinking ahead.
P.S. im preferably looking for NOS ones.

But check lasercurrent: too high is not beneficial. See service manual for right value.

Default CD80

you nend to have a check you servo board under the laser.as i know CD80 may use TDA8808T and TDA8809T.
if that is true.then have a look at the photo.in the right side,17pin,18pin are from TDA8808T.find out the resistance which is 12E connets to LO(11-9) ,output to the laser in the left side.the photo is from CD850.but they are the same.when CDP is playing, try to got the voltage of that resistance.you know I=V/R.
then you will get the current.if current is less than 60MA,that your laser is good.

good luck and to be careful
