Current DVD-Audio players only output downsampled 16/48 on their S/PDIF out when playing DVD-audio... Yes - not even 24/96.
At least it's like that in Europe.
Our best friend, the music industry, urged the manufacturers not to allow high resolution digital copies. That's why commercial separate drive/DAC units all have proprietary interfaces.
Technically, I doubt whether a 192 kHz S/PDIF is really what we want. An all new digital audio interface designed not to repeat all mistakes and false assumptions back from the eighties would be my preferred solution.
When cheap 192 kHz interface chips are available, there is at least a chance some manufacturers will gice us access to high resolution digital audio to feed our DACs.

Remember, it's a difference whether your are playing an audio track on a DVD-Video (most players can output 24/96 S/PDIF) or a "real" DVD-Audio (most, maybe all players downsample to 16/48).
I've seen some players using a firewire interface for high resolution digital audio. Never seen any specs or even receiver chips for this, though.

Sorry you Right, the pioneer output only give the digital output at 24/96 you can get review at :
