Default Worth fixing an old cd player ?

I have an old Denon DCD 1700 that skips on track 1 and 3 when I play any cd in my collection, should I pay to get it fixed or would a cheap new cd player sound just as good or better then my old denon.

Thanks in advance for your replies.
