Hi All,
I want to have a spare laser for my marantz cd-7. It has a vam1252/00. I understand that there were several lasers available. Philips 3, 5, 6 and 7 type. I have found a german website with spare lasers for sale. What is your opinion on these lasers? Is the Philips 3 the one i need? The CD-7 laser uses a TDA1302T IC, so does this Philips type 3. http://www.ersatzteil.justone-schnep...2_philips.html Philips type 3 ![]() ![]() My CD-7 mechanism and laser:

DARRYL,
Hi! I got a Marantz CD7 too, and love it tremendously! I recently suffered a dead lens and possibly transport. Did you managed to find a spare VAM1252 transport? If yes, please help by telling me where you got it? I need to purchase a replacement VAM1252. Any one can help? Thanks for reading. |

The one in your picture is the CDM12.4 pickup... I have worked on many of these.
Finding good quality replacements is becoming difficult. So many poor quality parts out there now. |

OK guys, since the response is poor on the first question, I did a little digging on the www and found that VAM12 is a economical version of the VAM1252, is the laser assembly compatible between these two? Guys, please help if you can, I am getting somewhat desparate here! Thanks. |

new Brand of Hologram Laser (LDGU) LT0H30PA inside by Philips CDM12 and VAM12 mech of this forum from Taiwan, you will think no longer so. visual the same part (same HF IC, same collominator lens, same flex connector and electrical compatible) but different quality standarts by the hologram laser. This is also the explanation for huge price differences until factor 10 (i. e. 10$ until 100$) |
