Hello I am interested in interfacing an AD1865 to a PMC2706 to make a USB DAC. I've done a bit of searching on this and seen a few different solutions, but have never seen a finished project with it. It seems most people resort to the TDA1543.
I was intending on using the I2S out from the PCM2706 and sending this to an AD1896 ASRC, then setting the output for 18bit L justified. Also what about the clock for the AD1896...can I just use an additional crystal? Any advice on this will be helpful as I am a digital noob! Thanks G.

There is no reason why this won't work. The AD1896 needs a master clock and if you use the output serial port in master mode, the quality of this clock becomes critical.
