Default cheap via envy soundcard at Maplin UK

Howdy,

I havnt read anyone discussing this card. I was pleasantly surprised to notice an 8 channel via envy24ht-s based soundcard at maplin for £19.99, so ordered it. Have just recieved it and it appears to have same chips as the chaintech av710 and others with the additional benefit of spdif in. as per the chaintech, 6 of the 8 channels are provided by the via vt 1616 and the last two by a wolfson wm8726.

its sold under maplin's whitebox brand and Ive been told its to be discontinued. Wasnt in any of my local stores, but online is showing there are a number left.
