marantz 67se problems

Well the laser has gone out and I need a new one. I know that the mechanism is a CDM-12.1 which I need. Is there and updated version of this part that may work better? If not where is the best place to get one of these in the US.

Are you sure it is the laser ?

The updated version of the CDM12.1 is called VAM1202. You should be able to get it through a local repair-shop.
