My Marantz CD67SE won't read Discs (Err 2). From this forum and other's I have gleaned the solution is either
1. Clean the pickup and remove grease. 2. Replace the laser Pickup (Replace CDM12.1 with VAM1201 or VAM1202 (Got that). 3. Replace TDA1302 chips which go bad. My wife is an Electronics-person (don't ask me, she appears to know all about PCB's and chips and things) but says she cannot source a TDA1302T. I had a look here http://www.nxp.com/similar/TDA1302_1.html and was wondering if (a) There is an alternative that is KNOWN to work ... (b) If anyone knows where to get this chip? Cheers, k. |

Hi,
Have you tried the laser replacement first? You are at/in China ,the world's factory and you can't find TDA1302? Please... Troubleshoot step by step. For tda1302 try your own ic distributors, do a search. |

LOL, yeah I know ... :-)
We got hold of a VAM1201 (good price too!) via a contact in Zhuhai, it's ERR 2 so yes, we've decided to try that first, I understand that error is laser-focus-related anyway. Very very hard to find that TDA1302T ... k. |

Just some feedback:
End of life .... is 30 Sep 06 http://www.nxp.com/acrobat_download/...eol/dn56_a.pdf No replacment no's. (NXP "IS" Philips...).The TDA1302T has also been seen in these (so someone can scavenge..) CD-ROM's - CD-ROM Wearnes Sapphire http://matthieu.benoit.free.fr/107.htm Another CD-Player that uses the same Chip is the Phillips CD 723 http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showt...2T#post470973. Maybe CD 720 too. This fellow in Denmark sells spare parts. http://www.reptips.dk/reservedele/cd...cdprolaser.htm. Used in Jukeboxes e.g. NSM, WURLITZER, ROWE-AMI Rock-ola and many B&O equipment. High End Stuff: http://www.daisy-laser.com/downloads...s/prem7000.pdf This polish guy sells Video Heads and Mechanisms http://www.videohead.com.pl/cd.php. Presumably the mechanism has the TDA1302T, NOT the head. HK Inventory? http://www.hkinventory.com/public/OfferInventResult.asp This guy might have one: http://www.hwforums.com/2186/messages/52.html ? I have no affiliation with any of the above. I was/am just trying to FIND one. k. |
