Hi, my VRDS CMK4 in Krell KAV300 CD has broken. I have found that one of gearwheels moving laser has 3 or 4 flat 'teath' (forgive my english). Anyway I soppose there is no chance to get such a smal spare part so I decided to buy whole drive. Please help me as I have no ide where to find one. Thanks.

Sh!!! (Tech's secrete) keep it under your hat
I have repaired these in the past if replacement parts are obsolete. What I've done is bought 2 or 3 different brand battery operated clock movements/modules, you know the ones, that are replacement ones for faulty battery clocks, they have many gear wheels inside them and if you get 2 or 3 you will find the right gear inside one of them. They cost about $2 each from bargain shops. This will save a good transport/cd player from becoming an expensive paper weight. Cheers George |
