Hi,

Are there any websites or posts with mods for the CE 775 SACD player? I know there is a website doing the mods for them but what I'm looking for is instructions on how to perform the mods etc....

Thanks

http://www.sacdmods.com/ does mods for the CE775, and they have pictures describing what exactly they do with the players. There was an article in AudioXpress this month, reviewing the player with their mods, and the article is available for download from www.sacdmods.com . I am not recommending that you get your player mod'ed by them, but this is a good place to get an idea of what mods might make the player sound better.

I haven't seen any posts on this forum regarding this player. If you go to the Audio Asylum forums, they are quite a few posts about modifying the CE775 also.

http://www.tweakaudio.com/ also has some information about mod'ing players.

One thing that I forgot, dorkus is working on modifying his 222es sacd player:

This is almost the exactly same player, with upgraded components, and a better power supply. He might be able to provide you with some information that will be helpful.

A good surface mount soldering reworking tutorial by hifizen is available in the wiki at:

I've checked out the website but unforunately the SACDmods doesn't really go very indepth about their mods. They tell you what they do but there is no real instructions (as opposed to the Art DIO mod pages for example that have VERY nice tutorials). The download links for the Audio Express stuff are also down...

Pick up a copy of the service manual either from sony or one of the online distributors (you should be able to find the names on this site I don't rember off hand). If you study that for a while then go back to the sacdmods page it should be pretty clear what is going on. Also, as mentioned earlier the 222ES is almost the exact same player so read up on what people are doing to that. Finally look the thread on the NS500V, while it is a bit different it will give you some good ideas on what to think about modding, look at the ideas, then study the schematics in the service manual to see how to apply the ideas to your player. That should give you a good start...
