first try cd-rom + 1543 dac

Tried to use cd-rom drive plus a NOS 1543 dac to bulid cd player. The controller + cd-rom drive works find when use analog output. But when connect the SP/DIF to this 1543 dac

the controller freeze with message "Looking for IDE". Disconnect the dac, the cd-rom driver plays normally. Any idea what's wrong?

I don't have other dac to try.

I did further test on the dac with a dvd player's coax out. It didn't work also. From the link, it works with the author. And I also saw some similar schematic (same 75R at input, using 8412 or 8414 with 1543, different output RC network) DAC on other web sites and the authors also have success. I've check my connection over and over again and didn't spot anything wrong. What is the most likely area where I made msitake? What would you check first if you are in such situation? Please help.

"same 75R at input"

The CD-rom has TTL output level, so no 75R in parallel! Just leave it out.

By the way, soundwise, using CD-rom's digital out is waste of time (I wasted it already).

I have build a DAC also using CS8414 & AD1852 connect to my CD-Rom Player. No any error found. And then, Try to connect dvd-player and no any error found.
