Opinion on SCD-CE595 from ebay

Found this Sony cd player bidding on ebay (BHShop)

How this player compares to ES series.

I bought a SCD-CE595 and I'd say it was OK if I didn't have my 20 year-old CDP-C50 to compare it to. Against the CDP-C50 it stinks, even with SACDs.

My CDP-C50 blows the SCD-CE595 away so much that it's in a completely world. My old CDP is dying. It's a real problem. I've cycled through six new players with no luck. If anyone is familiar with the CDP-C50 and could reccomend a player with a similarly lush and lively sound, I'd greatly appreciate it.

find yourself an old Sony Playstation, the original one, the "Greystation" (model # schp1001, or schp5501 only). It is very good. Check out the "Playstation as cd player" thread here on diyAudio. It's very long, but full of good information.
