I have checked some posts but I still have some questions.
Does the digital (spdif) output of a generic or lets say nice cdrom (plextor ?!) cause any problem if it is used with a nice dac (e.g. analog devices evaluation boards) ? Are their spdif quality enough or still very bad to use with such a dac ? How much can reclocking tolerate on a bad spdif signal ? Assuming cdrom output is bad, lets rip the cd to the harddisk using some kind of accurate methods. What do you think about the quality of spdif output of ripped digital stream using nice mid or high quality sound cards (e.g. m-audio, rme) ? I dont want to use pc as a player due to noise. Embedded pc s may work though, either by controlling cdrom or streaming the digital data on a flash disc to the dac (i dont know if there is such an hardware exist for embedded pcs). |
