TDA1541A date-coded 2001 - Are these real?

Hi guys,

There is a Thai chap (dht-thai) selling TDA1541A which are dated code 2001 on Ebay.

He claims that these are new production TDA1541A by Philips Holland.

Are these chips for real or are they remarked chips?

These same coded chips are now being sold by audiotek168 on E'Bay. Mine did not work (twice).
Did yours ?

Hi, I did not buy the chips as I felt that these might be remarked chips.

I am very careful now when I deal with suppliers from China, Thailand and Indonesia.

To be fair to the supplier they are willing to replace them FOC.

Not wanting to threadjack but:

I still have genuine 1998 TDA1541A for sale. Absolutely genuine Philips ( Taiwan production ! ) chips in original packing bought from LG/Philips in the Netherlands.

How do you read the date codes on these? I think that I have bought a chip a couple of years ago (maybe longer) from dht-thai, but have never tested it. I don't seem to recall getting it from Ebay, but may have gotten his name from there and contacted him. Now you have me worried, although I don't recall paying a huge amount for it.
