Default PCM2702 noise sensitivity

Hello!

I have built a PCM2702, based on guzzler's design:
http://www.mellowparenting.demon.co....er/usbdac.html
I have modified it a little bit: I removed the step-up converter.

The problem is, that when I turn off my soldering station (just a simple transformer and a weller soldering iron), then the PCM2702 "freezes". Then I turn off the PCM2702's power supply, and then back, the computer won't play. I have te reboot the entire PC.
The same happens, when I use a small transformer to power the IC, or a 9V battery, to power this IC.

After this IC, there's a tube current buffer. Maybe, some noise, or disturbance is coming through this tume circuit, when some noise is on the mains?

Have anyone experienced such problems?

Default Not much help...

I have the same PCB and I had the same problems. It was 100% stock so at least you can say it isn't the tube buffer circuit.

The 2702 would lock when certain nearby appliances were switched on or off. I didn't have to reboot though. Just switched the DAC on and off and it would come back.

I never solved the issue and I don't use the DAC any longer so I can't really help. I suspect the glitch causing the problem comes through the computer's USB power supply. You may not use it for power but I believe the circuit still uses it for some purpose.

Maybe link a schematic so others can have a look? I don't remember the details of it.
