i ave this sharp cd player but every time i turn it on it displays "PROTECT" and the cd player will not turn on. can u help we wiv this problem PLEAAAAAASSSEEEEEEE!!!!!

Check the audio output IC.
Don't ask me which one it is.

Edit: Good chance its one of the STK series.

Sure.
Inside the unit, you will find a part that might reassemble the picture. Not exactly the same but similar, with many pins. Good chance this one is broken.

Hi I have been give a Sharp CDBP1700 stereo unit. It looks great but I can't use it because a message about a protection code comes up when I turn the unit on. The other numbers on the model are 01229107 and AU0963005. I am unable to ask the previous owner about this as he has passed away. Is anyone able to help me.
