Default OpAmps wired in parallel

Hi,

Since we can read everywhere that wiring converters (TDA1541, 1543) in parallel, as well as Chipamps (LM series, or the TDA7293) would be of a benefit (which I confirm), I wonder what would happen if we wire 2 or more OpAmps in parallel. What would be the theoretical benefit.

I tried it with some cheapo devices (2114), so far I couldn't hear any difference towards better (difficult with those items removed from a cheap player), and they went hot, but withstood the heat a few hours, unitil I removed them.

Has anybody experienced this? Will continue if I find a multiple of some better devices.

You may have input, output and power supply pins in parallel, but you have to split feedback loops of each. And puting some balansing resistors at each opamp output is a good practise.

Yes of course, I should have think about that!

Do you think with your suggested wiring I would have an impovement of sound?

You would, in theory, but in practice I don't think so, in that particulare application. But, IMHO there is nothing that should stop you to find for yourself again, this time in a right way.
BTW, yours chips are hot becouse thay oscilates...

You can connect opamps in parallel in order to reduce noise and/or increase output power .... but.... not with just putting them in parallel It takes more than that I'm afraid.

I will connect as aparatusonitus suggest, but this means I have to remove some components from the board and build an adapter to make dual feed back and load resistors.

When done, I'll let you know what the results would be.

Cheers,
