Unhappy Help need!!

Hi guys, i think i fried my cdp while modding. I accidently shorted my power supply while taking measurement with a probe.
Its a Kandy CDP MK1.
now when i put in a disc, the lens moves up and down to focus and there is laser ( used camera to see the glow).
some background ont he incident...immediately after the short, the lens went 'click'.....and the CDP hung. Went to power off and on..and
then its says no disc although there is a disc inserted. There is no connection lose as nothing was unplugged.

Its using Sony CXD2500BQ, CXA1782BQ. I suspects its either one that had burnt out. For the CXA1782BQ i can try replacing it...but for the CXD2500BQ can you jsut replace it with another piece? Does it need to be flashed with software before using.

Anyone familiar with the system please help me.
Is there a flash IC in the system??

Thanks

First check the power supply if all voltages are good.Use finger to touch cxa1782 if ic is hotter than normal. The cxa/cxd does not need/have no flash memory capabilty.
