recommended reading for a digital DIY newbie?

Hello all,

I am new to this forum, and new in particular to digital DIY.

Aside from the obvious pleasure derived from assembling a kit, I try my best each time to completely and thoroughly understand the theory behind each design and more importantly, it's implementation.

While I have some experience with assembling tubed equipment and rudimentary tube amplifier design, I am a complete virgin to digital circuitry.

Is there any online reading that the more experienced members could direct me to?

Or alternatively, a few choice words so that I may begin my quest for knowledge?

I just started looking at this stuff, so far on my reading list

AES3-2003 Free standard doc from AES web page

Analog AD1955 datasheet
CS8416 datasheet - this contains lots of references

Check alt.binaries.e-book.technical on usenet. Lots of stuff posted there... buy the book if you find something you like.
