Hi, Thanks for the info. I downloaded CoolEdit bit I'm afraid I didn't have much luck converting an mp3 without the copy protection signal. Every time I tried to play back the track, the dreaded 'copy prohibit' appeared in the diaplay of my PCM-2700. I will certainly look into the elektor project though.

Regards,

Thought the PCM2700 was a professional dat machine like the PCM70x0 machines that can override the copybit.

That's interesting.... My 2700 does have a 'copy prohibit' button but this seems to only enable the protection in analogue mode. Unless you know different of course! (My ES77 has a music scan button in place of the copy prohibit.)

Regards,

Regards,
Can't comment on the '2700 but '7030 can definitely override the copybit but it did require delving into its sub-menus.

Hi
Look at Elektor Feb 94, Sept 95 & Jan 96 or the Elektor Audio Collection CDRom has all three articles.
Cheers

Hi, I have since found that some Panasonic machines have a sub menu built in, accessed by pressing a sequence of buttons on the panel. Does anyone know the sequence for the 7030? I could then try this on the 7200.

Thanks guys,

Any chance of getting the User Guide ? It would be in there as defeatable SCMS is a feature of all the PCM Dat machines I've seen.
