I finally finished my USB audio DAC basing on TI PCM2702 chip. Black Gate N in signal path was the best compromise between price and size. This way it's quite compact.

Looking good! Really nice. Im working on a simulare one based on the PCM2906.
How do you control pin 10, 11 and 12 (PLYBCK, SSPEND and ZERO)? |

I only use PLYBCK pin to visualize that there is signal incoming. Another LED is connected to (+) supply. I have got few PCM2706 boards almost ready. |

Nice looking board (all your stuff looks good)-
I like the look of your schematics, may I ask what software you use for your schematics/pcb layout? Thanks! |

Thanks for the reply!
That is the key to the good looking schematics I guess- you make your own parts libraries- which look very nice. I like the "real world" look of your parts. I'm currently using WinQcad www.winqcad.com (free up to 499 pins), which is a very nice package (good autorouter). I will try making my own parts that look "real"- thanks for the tip! Keep up the good work. |

On a side note, why use autorouter especially on analogue stages, does it know how to avoid ground loops or try to keep l/r channels symmetrical?
I think you have to start with good component placement, with the bonus that it will make routing easier. |
