I was changing the opamps in my old Ariston CD1 CD player (JRC5532). Initially, it was very successful with 2xOPA627 for each channel. Then I decided to try LT1364s but put them in the wrong direction. Two things happened: 1, the 300ma fuse got blown in about 3 seconds;2, as I put the the 4 opa627 back, one channel is silent while the other is heavily distorted. The CD player still reads CD fine and the coaxial digital-out is working too. So I think that something in the audio output section got blown. The schematic of this player can not be found, but I do have a few pics taken.

First remove the OPAMPs,then check the voltage at pin 8 and pin 4.

Thanks!
I later tried a couple AD826s and they worked perfectly. Switching back to OPA627s and they work fine too (I decided to use AD826 for SQ). But the LT1364s were burned. I guess someone played a track on me. So, as long as the voltages at pin4 and pin8 are correct, there is nothing to worry? Just a general question. |
