In Need Of Advice
Hi,
I recently had to sell off most of my hi-fi system recently due to unforseen circumstances.... car being stolen/smashed, finding out I owe the government $2000, and still having to pay an arm and a leg for University..... So I sold everything, except my amps, and Diy speakers, but I can't listen to anything and it's driving me insane!!!:bawling: So being relatively handy with a soldering iron and having built my own speakers, and fully realized the benefits of doing so, I naturally though of going diy. But there's just SOOOO much information on this site, and others, i'm getting more than a little confused:xeye:. So I guess my question is, I'm looking for a few kits that I can build myself, and still get above average performance, specifically i'm looking for a pre-amp, a transport and a Dac. I have about $1000 to spend in total, any suggestions? I have an old CDP that I can canabalize and maybe use some parts from that... I'm sorry to ask such a generic question, but i've searched, and searched and I just get more and more confused.... Thanks in advance! Tristan |
