Default Nakamichi cd4 vs Pioneer PD-S901 or something else

Hi All,
Ive just joined this forum site and would like to ask others for more info about the Nakamichi cd4.After a long time with vinyl using a michell gyro SE/techno arm A/ Ortofon MC 30 Supreme.
I wanted to compare it with my slightly dusty 12 year old Nak CD4 player with identical music.
A MoFI vinyl and MoFI cd of Cat Stevens Izitso.
Well no brainer really and I wasn't expecting it to be.
But it did get me thinking that I must get round to replacing it for the music that I can't get on vinyl.
Could some tell me what the transport and DAC arrangement is in this machine? I will also need the clock frequency.
I like the look and feel of this machine so I am thinking about putting a new clock in it from Trichord Research.
Also would the transport of this machine be good enough to use as a dedicated transport?
Its probably had minimal use over the years. If all else fails I'm thinking about going retro, I can get my hands on a PD-S901 Pioneer stable platter, so could some one tell me if that would be a better option, or would an PD-65 be even better. I would also consider reclocking it and using a dedicated DAC at a latter stage.
Thanks

Can't go wrong with a PD-65 as a transport with Tent XO3 Clock improved spdif output and Tent XO Supply (forget the dac section) . This setup was my reference transport for a long time, the only thing that beat it was a Teac VRDS-T1 transport with all the Tentlabs goodies. And get a good Dac and you will love cd's.

Cheers George

Both the PD-S901 and PD-65 are fine machines. Put in a good clock and rework the coaxial digital output session and you will have a good transport
