Hi all, I am building an outboard power supply for a DAC but I am confused with regard to the grounding scheme that should be used for the PCB of the psu.
With a simple (unreg) linear supply, is it possible to use a single solid ground plane and just attach the transformer secondary, rectifiers and caps to it, or is this the wrong approach? I have read a lot about star grounding but is this approach better for this application? I suppose it can't hurt to control where the return currents go but I am unsure exactly how big the star should be and where it is best placed. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks! |
