Just taken delivery of one of these. Sadly the op-amps were not socketed as asked for. However I was amazed that it had arrived in one piece with nothing broken.

Initial impressions i.e running time 20 minutes! are very good. Infact I was very pleasantly surprised. Delivery time was 8 days after it left Hong Kong (DIY Club) Cost with postage about £105.

I can de-solder the existing op-amps and put in sockets, no problem. Are you using BB627's ? If so how do they sound over the stock op-amps ?

anything will sound better than the stock opamps !

well not quite.

Just fitted some paper in oil caps to replace the output film caps........I really don't know what I've been playing at .These are so far inadvance of the film caps as to stupid.

The sound is now liquid, natural and supremly musical. The AH is now sounding better than the 99cdp's own dac.
