there are 16 TDA1543's in parallel, at near max voltage (max is 8.6) happily consuming away, generating loads of heat. When I had the whole DAC including clock, receiver and other chips on the bench supply, the current needle usually went to about 1.0 amp. A 18ah SLA battery powers it for about 16 hours before it's time to recharge.
