Default Kinergetics Kcd20 Cd Player Service Info Needed

Hello from OHIO!

I am in need of Service Information (manual, schematics, bulletins, etc.) for a Kinergetics KCD20 CD Player.

I am willing to pay a fair price for this information as I am currently restoring one of these units.

Any help anyone could kindly provide would be greatly appreciated!

Best Regards,

Terry Keith

Could not possibly help you with a service manual but I seem to remembber seeing one inside once I think....

I think they used a standard Philips CD PCB with CDM4 mechanism. Something like a Philips CD620/630 Marantz CD40/50.

Addeed to this appearewd to be their own DAC board and analogue stage that looked similar in layout to the std Philips TDA1541 fare except that the components were all of better quality.

Anyway, if this is what it is, perhaps you could post an internal pic, there is plenty expertise on this forum WRT CDM4/TDA1541 Philips based.

That's a good idea. This model does use the 1541A DAC (one of them) and a CDM2/10 transport.

I'll take some photos and post them.

This one does not power up the laser - even though I've substituted a known-good transport.

I think it may have an issue with one of the ICs.

I've recapped it (several needed replacement) and really am looking forward to getting it going again.

I also talked with the daughter of Fred Pham (former Kinergetics Technician and Assistant Designer and she told me that Fred has stopped repairing these units three years ago. Although he did retain some service information (electronic versions) for some of their higher-end products, he tossed out the manuals for the KCD units long ago .

Thanks for your reply and for the encouragement!

Best,

Default Kinergetics Schematics

Just wondering if you ever were able to get any of the Kinergetics schematics from Fred Pham? I have a Chiro amp that needs repair and my tech could really use the info.
