Whatever the shortcomings of the DDDAC, if any, I don't care. I have one connected to my system and it is by far the best source I have ever heard in my system. In this regard I am grateful that there are people like doede that takes the time to make DIY available to the masses.

Hi,
I agree. The DDDAC was the best DAC I ever had in my system. The DDDAC meausurement results are not the best, but the DAC sounds great. And that is exactly what we desire. Arne |

Well I don´t understand all this emotional rallying around the dddac as if it is somebodys favourite football team that was being trashed.
I have one and it is very good and I ilke listening to it.I have congratulated Doede of course. However if there are some valid technical issues to be raised , even if in an unsolicited manner, I would be interested to hear about them and possible improvements to this excellent design. There is always room for improvement in every design. Of course it would have been much more interesting if the thread starter had actually tested one of the dddac´s and applied perhaps his proposed remedies.Anyway it is a good basis for discussion.

When the TDA1541/A or TDA1543 are involved one cannot expect reason to prevail. Any attempt at optimisation would be viewed as heresy by the followers.

Non-inverted gainclone was heresy for over a year, untill someone discovered that it actually performs better.

Are you proposing an optimised DDDAC ? If you are, the inquisition should not be unexpected. |
